One of the greatest tragedies of antidepressant withdrawal is that, in its darkest moments, it can convince people that things will never improve.
Yet again and again, people recover.
Not always quickly. Not always in the way they expect. Recovery is rarely linear, and there may be setbacks along the way. But countless people who once believed they had lost themselves forever gradually rediscover their emotions, their relationships, their sense of purpose and their capacity to experience life fully again.
Relationships can recover too.
Not every relationship survives withdrawal, and this website does not pretend otherwise. But many do. Sometimes with greater patience. Sometimes with deeper compassion. Often with a level of understanding that simply wasn't possible while the nervous system was overwhelmed.
